What’s amazing to me about this is not so much that people don’t know what a vowel is but that they have absolutely no compunction about proclaiming their ignorance to the world. I mean, if you don’t know what a vowel is I kind of get that. It’s not exactly the sort of information people regularly use in their day-to-day lives, and I can understand how people might not know it off-hand. However, maybe before you go tweeting that shit and looking like an uneducated fool on the internet you could try googling it? It’s not the lack of education on display here that I find appalling; it’s the lack of even the tiny bit of curiosity required to type “what is a vowel” into the Google search field instead of into Twitter. Max, of course, is the exception. Not only does he not know what a vowel is, he seems to think that he DOES know and is trying to be clever. Poor Max.
